Caversham Park Village firm Rosemor International has taken its groundbreaking cleaning machines a stage further. Last year the Caversham Park firm, launched the Rotomac 300, a machine for cleaning escalators unlike anything already on the market.
It can clean both the flat and upright sections without the need to remove them. Previously escalators had to be laboriously dismantled and the steps sent away for cleaning.
Now Rosemor plans to introduce its sibling, the Rotofast 500, designed for more regular cleaning, and has been amazed at the potential market. Managing director Efi Rosen said: “We thought it could go into thousands of places, but it is tens of thousands.”
The Rotofast deep cleans escalators and travelators without the need to even switch them off. A deal with hire specialist HSS has helped make the Rotofast service available at 400 outlets in the UK and there are big plans to sell it abroad.
Cash and carry business Makro, which uses travelators to carry customers with trolleys is one of may firs already talking to Rosemor.
Rosemor will take the machine to the ISSA Interclean exhibition in Amsterdam in May, which the firm plans to use as a springboard to worldwide sales.
The two machines have already transformed Mr. Rosen’s business and account for around 80% of his turnover. He expects to be selling them in 30 countries and already has attracted sales from South Africa and Brazil.
Mr. Rosen added: “This is the first escalator and travelator cleaning machine in the world that can deep clean. There is a massive market.” As well as large stores, potential markets include shopping centres, airports and railway stations.
